Having sweat it out in every venue from Irish pubs to large nightclubs in New England for 6 years as a founding member of the popular New England cover band The Emergency Broadcast System, Munk is now taking the collective lessons learned from 80 shows a year and putting a new spin on them with a special night of covers. There are cover bands that play the songs “rote” and there are bands that take ownership of the music, in the oldest tradition of signature performers, adding memorable qualities to their renditions and instant association.
Taking the later approach was a cornerstone of The Emergency Broadcast System’s popularity and Munk Duane Band’s spin on this philosophy takes on a new excursion – music from Classic to Modern Pop and Rock with decidedly Southern flavor to Modern Country hits.
