For the past three years, I have written music for CBS Sports for the NFL, College Football and NCAA broadcasts, which are used under replays and pre-game/post-game shows. Due to the lag in ASCAP reporting (industry standard I’m afraid) I’ve just learned of more placements that occurred between October 2010 and February 2011. This brings the total count to over 50 games, including the 2010 Super Bowl Half Time Show, College Football Today and Home Depot Second on CBS.
More music for a fourth year is in the works. Stay tuned!

Today is the big day for the Munk Duane Band. I know they are playing at the Hard Rock Cafe on Thursday night, but without any music, well I don’t know what they’d do there. Lucky for everyone, they have released a new record today. So you have a chance to become acquainted with the material, see? So you make your acquaintance starting right now, and you’ll be good and ready for the big show on Thursday night. Everybody wins! … Continue reading
Inspired by the exploration of American roots music in timeless albums by legendary artists like The Rolling Stones (Exile on Main St) and U2 (The Joshua Tree) and the Country/Pop crossover success of everyone from Chet Atkins and Elvis to Jason Aldean, Munk is taking his penchant for modern pop hooks, and infusing a little bit of Country into his Rock n Roll. The result is the Munk Duane Band’s debut EP “Everywhere Is South of Somewhere” is arriving digitally on October 11th. BUY IT NOW!
Munk explains, “What are the elements that create truly timeless music? I imagine this exploration is akin to the feeling The Rolling Stones had while creating Exile On Main Street or U2 with The Joshua Tree. I’m digging deep into Country and Americana tradition and attempting to marry those “nuggets” into the pop songwriting structure of 2011, much like Chet Atkins, Elvis and Buddy Holly did in the 50’s.”
Conned, the feature film scored by Munk, is on a roll in the film festival circuit. The latest is the Filmshift Festival in MA. The screening for Conned later this week is already sold out.
A trailer for a new feature length thriller, The House Across the Street, also scored by Munk, will make its debut ahead of Conned at Filmshift. The trailer should be available for public consumption next week. Stay tuned for a link.

Planet Killers is the moniker Munk operates under when entertaining his more electronic bent musings (mostly written for film and television placements). “Don’t Waste My Time” is the first single to be released commercially.
This track was written, by request, to be pitched for an upcoming major Hollywood feature film release.
Available now on CDBaby.com and on iTunes in September.
